I was checking the engine I bought for my bobber project, it has good compression 150lbs per cly. starts well ect The only two things I have found are 1. three small dots on the rotor tips of the oil pump they are the smae size and pattern on all lobe faces and 2. some very small black plastic and shiney aluminum bits in the filter mesh, I have removed the valve cover and loosened the cam chain as much as possible and as far as I can see with a light lowered into the engine the guides and slippers look ok some wear but no metal showing, how thick should the plastic guide material be ? , I need to know the latter in case I have to be creative and bond/ rivet some teflon to the slippers thanks Karl
