Ok I'm in the begining stages of this so I will post progress pictures as I go. By the way. The bike isn't going to be red, I just wanted to get some color on it. Let me kow what yall think. As I'm saving the money to get it running good I'll be doing all the other stuff. The plan is to have the forward controls built and on the bike, the dent in the tank fixed, the rear fender & taillight mounted, and I'm going to take about half of the foam out of the seat by next Sunday. Hopefully I'll have it painted the way I want it by Sunday also. If I get anything else accomplished, that'll be extra, lol. Then I want to lower it. I'm planning on getting that kit from JC Whitney and some shorter shocks. I would like to get it around 4"-4.5" lower, so if the lowering kit is 2.5" then I would need about 11"-11.5" shocks, right?
If anyone has any ideas about the shocks let me know. There's a Honda dealer, a Harley dealer, and an all metric dealer located close to me, if that helps.
Later,
Jamey

eBay has a set of 11" being sold by TAS out of Indiana.
I'm pleased with mine. Do a search on eBay using this heading...
Yamaha XS650 Chrome Short Shocks XS 650 Cafe Racer
This is all the lowering that I needed.

Ga, what an asshole! No, I'm just messing. I don't like the seat either. It's too...bulky...maybe. I don't know, I don't like it though. It does feel nice to my ass. It's all soft and stuff, lol.
