i think i have handlebars of an old xj400 or something other than stock...I have a dangerous predictament going around left turns though..the throttle comes close to the fuel tank. sharp enough and im hitting the throttle off the tank. what im saying in too many words is how can i adjust this? I pulled them off the forks and looked at the brackets and its a soild bolt with no way to loosen them......please help , i live in the deep country and have a lot of sharp turns to negotiate.

Those are plastic covers. You pry them off with a knife blade and there is an allen head bolt underneath.

Put them in a vise and bend them out......and it looks like the ends need to go up too......did that to my ole stockers............heck all you can do is mess them up........while they are in the vise you can put your hands on them to get them comfortable and the way you want them....Maybe........xsjohn

In some places you can clamp them in between some wood to keep from scratching them and a piece of hollow water pipe for a torque bar makes it easier........xsjohn

Doesn't matter who owns that dog.......I'm forced now to up date my portfolio seriously.....also now I know where the old saying comes from "'you dog you"" .....always thought that a puppy with two peeters was the happiest thing on earth.......wrong again........ xsjohn
