Greetings!
well, i've determined that the key switch on the bike i'm working on is shot. it seems i can't order a 4 wire replacement from Mike's, and i'm trying to figure out the best way to fix this.
so far, i've got 2 solutions thought up.
I'm contemplating deleting the key switch, all together, and putting a toggle switch on the mains line coming off the battery, under the locked seat. you can't start it unless you can get under the seat to switch the toggle back on, but i'm not sure how to wire all the other wires that were attached to the switch.
the other option also has a switch on the positive cable under the seat, but also to utilize the switch to control everything BUT the ignition, and just grounding out the ignition wire.
which of these ideas is more sound? are there other options i haven't figured out? thanks for any help!

I would ask Royfisk.. he might have an ignition switch for you...or I MIGHT have another ignition switch.. Let me look and if I have one I will give you a hollar... me personally I don't like the idea of no key.... But again I will look..

Why not take the switch apart and clean up the contacts.

the switch would be under the seat, which locks down, we figure that'd be fairly safe. i'm gonna pull apart the switch myself, and make sure everything is clean, but my old man did it the last time, and i trust his work.. so who knows
