On my Honda I could see through the master cylinder to see the brake fluid level very distinctly. Why cant I see through my 81S master cylinder to see the brake fluid level. I went out and bought dot 3 today because I couldn't see fluid but when I opened it up it was full. ??

I dunno if the "white" colored portion of the brake MC was ever translucent. I have an '81 also and mine is definitely opaque. Might just be a function of age.
Best,
