Will the fork tubes from a '75 swap out with the fork tubes on a '71 without too much trouble? I've got a '75 parts bike and a '71 with a bent front end. I'd like to replace the fork on the '71 with that of the '75. Any advice is appreciated.

'77 was the year of the tube change to 35mm, so you're good to go there. The problem may arise with the upper triple clamp and how the tubes attach to it. On your '71, the top caps hold the tubes into the upper tree. On the '75, the tubes are clamped with pinch bolts. If you use the newer upper tree, that may present problems with mounting your instruments. Best case scenario would be to use the old top caps through the old upper tree into the newer tubes. Of course, the diameter and threads between the old and new cap need to match.
