17 inch aluminur rims and ss spokes

has anyone replace the stock cast wheels with after market wheels and spokes?
i would like to replace the stock cast wheels with 17 inch aluminum wheels and hubs with s.s. spokes.

not concerned about axles, i can make new ones.

Well ..... I'd say go for it. The new sport bikes are running same size front and rear wheels. 17s actually on most. Who ever would have thought it - the English had the right idea years back running same size wheels, even if they were 19s.

Choice of tyres over here in the UK can be limited for 17" rears Ive found...Better for 18".....

17 inch wheels are on most sport bikes here in u.s.a.

i think i have a plan to reach the 17 inch size.

two front disc brake & spoke wheel hubs, (off of an xs650) sent to buchanan,s and respoked on 17 inch aluminum rims. then assemble the new 17 inch rear with omars 19 inch conversion kit.

this should work. now the hard part is finding the wheels to get the hubs off of in my buddies motorcycle salvage barn.
