Have posted a bit and thought it was time for a formal intro.

The XS was my first "real" bike back in the late 80's. I bought it because used it gave me the highest displacement for the buck. I probably rode it 8m miles one summer around the country and it held up well. I was hooked.

Bought another lightly used cheap one years later and drove that on another venture. Hooked again.

Have had a few more since and nothing awakes my sense of adventure more than kicking the beast to life and feeling my hands & ass go numb after a couple hours on the freeway. But hey, I am oh so much older now...

My current Xs is a sweet 81 chop that has been rebuilt to the point that it is a very reliable 1 kick hardtail that gets a lot of respect from the Harley billet barge boys. At some point I need to clean up my shoddy "custom" wiring and take on the fabrication of XSjohns' top end oil cooler, which would be really useful during a Houston summer...

I look forward to more learning before I croak. Thanks for putting out the info.

greg
