I got thru putting the top end back together and found an extra copper washer that I can not remember where it goes. I put copper wahers on outside head studs, ditto on the oil feed tube. This washer is about the size of a dime on the outside, and the inside is smaller than a pencil. It is not out of the bottom end, I did not go there . It is entirely possible I have not come to the point of needing it yet, but while I was torquing the head bolts I spyed it on the bench and cannot remember where it goes. I don't want to go any farther till I figure this out. Your help is appreciated! David

There should be small copper washers under the 2 bolts on the front of the cylinder that hold the front cam chain guide in place. Sounds like it might be one of those. I'm really not aware of any other small size copper washers on the top end.

5twins , thanks for the reply. I checked the tensioner and those washers are in place. As long there are no copper washers INSIDE the top end I am proceeding along then. I just don"t want go any farther if anyone knew about a copper washer inside the top end. This my first engine rebuild and want to get it right! David
