OK, so earlier today I was having trouble getting the carbs back on - tought to ge them back into the boots - but a liltt eoil helped clear that up!
I have a bit of rust in the tank and beofre I kreem it or do the electrolysis, I want to install some fule filters on my lines - I see they sell them at Mike;s XS - but the question is - Where the heck is there room to put these little buggers? I mean this afternoon I flet like I was trying to put an air matteress back in the little box it came in after I deflated it after a camping trip. LOL - very tight on space.
I have a 77D madel - no mods - all stock
Any advise is appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the pic - it looks as though your petcock stem os facing forward am I right?
Both of mine face backward - but I guess I could run something like that - just using a longer fuel line.
Thanks

I installed the in-line filters from mikesxs on my 78 SE. They will fit in but its a tight squeeze.

you can put the fuel filter anywhere from the tank to the carbs. I think some people take advice to the letter and to squeeze the filter between the carbs by the backbone of the frame is very tight. If you want a cool old er look royal enfield has a alloy and glass fuel filter looks like a big acorn. I think there $7 but nice look.

Also, if you have not done it already, go to Mikes XS and buy the "socks" that they sell that go over the petcock tubes....worth their weight in gold. I have no inline filters, and was having trouble with the carbs picking up small pieces of dirt and rust from the tank, and I bought a pair of the socks, and.....knock on wood.......have not had a problem yet....The mesh is really small on the socks, so they work really well. Give them a try.

I think I could manage that set up in the pic. My first thought was that I didn't like it out there to be seen then my second thought was it is nice to see if you are getting crud in the filters!
