That's how I started last year after owning mine for 10 years to find out some new things.........At least you noticed.........Assuming that both cylinders are mechanically sound and timed correctly and carbs are clean and functioning right and balanced......The right is running hotter than the left......Been there and fixed that.......

Check timing and see if both are the same....
Then check compression on both cylinders and see if they are the same.....

If so then get back to me........

I'm not sure, but he may be describing oil outside the cylinder around the plug?? If so, probably your points housing gasket/o-ring is leaking. You may be right John ... but ... I spose brasco will tell us. Hey, you never know Smile

Should have been more specific. The build up is on the outside of the engine. I am going to change the plugs and see what it does then. Could just be a bad seal, i hope.

See I was right, I owe you a virtual beer Smile

I doubt its the plug leaking ... its the gasket/o-ring in the points cover above it most likely.

Mine has that too. I suspect the exhaust valve cover in front of it because I have a bad bolt there. Figure the wind is blowing the oil back along the cooling fins under the plug. Must be one of those two covers isn't sealing right on yours.
