If I was looking into buying a repair manual for my '75, which one should I go with? I would like something that is fairly comprehensive if at all possible. I am no slack when it comes to mechanics but it would be nice to have a good reference around.

I always use Haynes,Clymer seems a bit arse-about-face to me...

Agreed.... Clymers contradicts Haynes quite a bit and Haynes info usually checks out.... But I suppose it's a matter of preference. You should at least have one though....

Mikesxs.com sells the Haynes... I suppose you could find one on Ebay, I have never checked..... and you could also check your local book store or Yamaha dealer... if they don't carry it, they can probably get it. I lucked out, and the previous owner gave me both manuals when I bought the bike. They were never opened when I got them.... They are well used now! LOL. Hope the info helps. Nate

You can get new Haynes over here (UK) for £12 ($20) & as cheap as £4 ($2.50) used on Ebay

A few months back I got my first 650 and with it a lot of plans for setting
it "right". For a lot of other bikes I've usually purchased Clymer's & Haynes and usually found myself using Clymer's

Not this time. It's virtually all Haynes. My two cents would say that It's real tough to beat Mikes XS for most everything including the Haynes manual. Go for it! Good luck!
