I remember reading long ago about problems with rephased
engines and electronic ignitions. Did anybody ever sort the
problems out? Are there working bikes out there with this set up?

I don't know, if anybody in US solved the problem, but our mate Steffi Graf from Switzerland was working on this subject an will apparently come out with the on 277 engine working second edition of his NWZ electronic ignition in july.
If you understand German, you may get more information here:
www.xs650.de/forum/vie....php?t=914
or on his hp:
www.steffi-graf.ch/
If you don't, sent him an email, he will certainly answer in english

Here is an electronic ignition that showed up at Bob Bertaut's site. Anybody tried it?

I used 2 Boyer ignitions. A little expensive to say the least but this is the second year of running them and so far so good.

From that picture I believe this unit uses the stock advance and fires both plugs at once. Could be a nice swap for points but not as high tech as the Boyer unit. I think it would not work on anything but a stock crank arrangement.

TUDawgs,
How did you set up the two Boyers?
Also, did you get your name in the Native
American fashion?
