1982 Suzuki GS650??

Right now I have first dibbs on buying a 1982 Suzuki GS650 with 17,000 miles. Does anybody hear know anything about these bikes or any common problems with these bikes? I haven't found any reliable information reguarding these bikes except that its one of the most powerful 650s of their time. 68-74 HP. I like my XS650 but its getting old and shedding to much oil. Any comments would be very much helpful.

If you look hard enough on the net, there is plenty of info about those bikes. I know most of the suzuki's 550 and up are pretty reliable. Every bike has there quirks though.

Have a look at www.thegsresources.com. The engine is very reliable, some make a top end noise that sounds like chain or adjuster but is cam end float, nothing to worry about. I had the xn85, sold last year, which is a turbo version of the gs650, neat bike. Other than that, have fun with it, and check out that site. Finn.
