Very Happy It's rally time! www.thetwinster.com/Dogwood.htm

I thought I'd post this in case anyone should decide to participate. We've had a wonderful time each year so far. In my case, I wouldn't miss it! Ride what you have, but we all love the XS650.

I would love to get together with some other 650 freaks and have a good time, ride and share some stories. I live in IN, but could trailer the bike a few hundred miles to attend.

Anybody else?

The flatlands around here do get a little boring, i would love to ride the hills and hollers on some red dirt roads. Time is my worst enemy. The warm weather brings too many hobbies and projects, ya never know though.

I tend to find the deep water of the mid-Atlantic affects my coil/leads somewhat...

the yamaha xs650 society is having the annual rally this weekend, may 16-19 in benton, kentucky. the holiday inn has blocked off rooms for this event. i will be there

i will share my room and expenses, but don't tell the motel manager.

benton is on the north end of kentucky lake, or south of paducah, kentucky.

Wish I could. Checked out the pics from last year, it looked like good time. And the weather is going to be great.

Hi Guys,

It seems that it is a ways off yet, but in September we will be having our NxNW Ride, either a loop through and around the Olympics, or a bigger loop over the North Cross (Washington Pass), down past Lake Chelan, and west on Highway 20 through Leavenworth.

It's mostly vintage British bikes, but as one of the originators, I insisted (pleaded, begged--call it what you will) that classic twins (XS650's) be enthusiastically encouraged to participate.

Last year we spent most of the time staying warm in the rain--that is to say, camping and wiping out a couple of bottles of nice warm spirits, and some BBQ burgers and things.

We have people from British Columbia, Washington and Oregon coming--anyone at all is welcome and encouraged! It will be an overnight ride--half each day.

iddle of September---only four months away!

Why doesn't someone plan something near Wilmington NC? We have Myrtle Bch, Wilmington (with the battleship and Orton Plantation) Jacksonville (with Camp LeJeune) and some really great food. Come on down here guys!

Hi Guys,

I think there should be rides and meets everywhere!

Oh, something I forgot to mention about our little ride here: we will be awarding the "Cat Ass Trophy" to whichever unfortunate rider qualifies. To get the trophy, someone must endure an accident or hard time or whatever...it's a sort of universal consolation prize. Last year we had a guy slip on the mud while walking and actually break his shoulder---that would qualify!

Anyway, my friend Terry and I found out that if you just announce a ride and then go ride it, people will appear and go with you. It works if you aren't concerned about numbers--and we aren't. Just riding.

y four Euro's worth.......

VMD is the place. Lots of XS650 guys in the campground. Lots of bikes in general, all makes. I saw a guy riding around on a Neracar that looked like crap but ran like new. Vintage Motorcycle Days is the AMA's biggest event and the largest vintage event in the world. Three days of constant "Look at that!".
