Since my ride is half torn apart or half together,
Tossed around the idea of fixing the sarter problem.
I know Mikes has the spring and gear to fix it, thing is when I torn the starter off i tossed the other gear and shaft into a box. Any body got a pic or even a site where I can a pic of the starter and how the thing goes together to work?

You probably don't need the kit. Just bend your old drag spring (#3 above) tight again. Simple free fix.

Check the teeth on the starter gear if it is worn much replace. Found my old one in the yard. It jumped out and ground bad. New gear and no problems.

Yes and no xsjohn, when I took the starter off, did'nt think it had that
many gears,I know about the lazy spring and the gear I'll check and fix
after I get the clutch basket off. If I remeber rite when I took the strater
off there was a double gear on a shaft that slid back and forth. maybe I
just looked at the pic wrong?
