I'm from Kansas and I'm planning a trip thtough Colorado this summer. How will the altitude affect my bike?

You can figure a 30% power loss in the Rockies.

At 10,000 feet the air is approximately 30% less dense than sea level.
That has the same net effect as making your 650cc bike a 455cc equivalent.

Also your engine may need to be leaned out some.

I thought the cv carbs adjust for altitude. Maybe not enough for 10,000 feet. I notice slight changes when I go to the mountians here in NC and I think it's only 2000 feet or more above sea level. A 455cc bike in the mountains would be rough going especially if it's geared for highway.

I went through WY with a 6 cylinder Mustang and a trailer. It took forever 25 mph pedal to the metal. After a 4 hour pull up one mountain I stopped at the little bar for a beer. I asked the bartender whats up ahead. He said "just the two sisters". They may have been sisters but they were bitches also. Took me all day

Does anyone have service manual that I could buy for less than $30? Also, I currently have K&N filters on. Would unipod type filters improve my intake?

K&N are more expensive for a reason... they're better.
