I read some were, wish I could find it.
That either the FZR or YZR front calipers and disks were a bolt on replacement for the XS650. Anyone here know that for a fact?
Or know of a bolt on newer style caliper and disk that will work.
Thanks.

Newer xs1100 and xj1100's have slotted disks that I use on my xs. They stop a lot better and don't squeel any. Like 81-82 models. Would like to know the option you discussed if it were possible. The xs750-850 newer front slotted disks fit on the smaller rear xs.

I received a email from a fellow XS650 owner. He claims the FZR1000 calipers and disk bolt right up. I asked him for a picture. Will see.
I hope it's true. That would be one trick set up.

Don't know about this bolt on thing but there is a bunch of that kinda stuff on ebay. Here's a few.

One trick I learned to keep the rotor smooth is to take the pads off once in a while and smooth the pads on a belt sander. They are tough and you will be surprised how much it takes just to scratch them. This takes off the high spots and your rotors will stay smooth.

I just may take the chance and bid on a disk and caliper and try it.
I can always re-list if it does not work.

I was told today by a reliable source today that the FZ disks and calipers will not bolt right on. O-Well. Maybe someone out there knows of a bolt on modern front end or calipers/disk that will work.
