My father in law wants me to put some new sprockets and chain on his 82, on my advice. He likes the idea of smaller rear sprocket and stock front. Do I need to go to a 102 link chain if I drop down to a 31 or 32 tooth rear sprocket? Or will 104 link still adjust ok?

Any advice on a good setup would be appreciated, as I've never tried anything other than stock.

Thanks,
VT

I can only speak for my setup. I went with the 18 tooth front and 32 tooth rear. used the stock lentgh 104. It made for a much better bike for cruising at highway speeds, lost some but not much acceleration, Still can pull the front wheel on ocassion! I would ask Mike's XS or Dwayne at 650 Central, I'm sure they could tell you what you need.
