Thought I'd try a 17/31 sprocket setup to drop cruising rpms a bit without giving up too much grunt, but I'm wondering if with that combination I'll be able to shorten the chain a link and avoid lengthening my wheelbase with the 31. Right now I'm stock 17/34 with 104 links and it looks like I'd have to keep that length with the 31 and suffer the slower steering that the resulting longer wheelbase would give. Would 30t be a better choice? Would the decreased sprocket diameter cause my chain to rub on the forward end of the swingarm?
Thanks
Alan

I changed from a 34 to a 30 and had no problem. In fact if your chain isn't stretched out too much you wont even have to take a link out and no your chain wont rub,nor will u notice a change in turning.
