|
I just mounted an XS1100 front disc on my 79 special, thought it looked funny and then realised it is from the left side of the donor bike. Our single front discs are on the right side. Are the slots in the disc pointing in the wrong direction? I can't see this making too much difference, but if there is a safety concern I would like to address it. Any thoughts? ...Angus...

I don't think it will matter much. I have the slotted 1100 rotors on mine, I have a slotted rotor on the rear. When I installed them I put the rear on first, then put the one on the front right side that matched the rear, put the other on the other side.

A single slotted has been on the front of mine bassackwards for 45 thousand.....did mine that way purposly...thought it looked better for some reason....
If you hit the pads on a belt sander once a year a bit the disks will stay smooth and shinny with no grooves also........watch for asbestos dust....

If i remember right i used the left rotor off a dual disc to make them run the same way. I have three slots if anyone's interested, i put new rotors on over the winter.
