Has anybody fitted the old style 48mm dual piston callipers to the later model 35mm forks? Or vice versa, fitted the newer 40mm single pistons to the older 34mm forks?
Wouldn't mind seeing some pics if there's any out there! Cheers.

As easy as it is to swap the front end, I don't think anyone would try it.

Well you've got both Leo, I take it you've got a single disc on the '75?
Does the '79 with the twin discs stop better than the '75?
I'd like to run a 35mm fork with the early callipers, though I dont find much wrong with the 34mm forks & I'd happily run with them, just figured 35mm would be the better option & early callipers also the better of the 2!
Cheers

What I have is a 75 with a 79 front end. Yes the 79 front end with the dual disc stops much better. I Also put a disc brake on the rear. This set up will halt the bike right now.

The 35mm forks have wider mounting holes (about an inch) than the early 34mm calipers, you will have to use the newer calipers unless you want to fabricate an adapter. My personal feeling is that brakes should not be "adapted to fit", that could be a weak link in the chain.

Yeah, cheers. Knew they were different....Quite fond of the twin pot calipers, quite fond of the 35mm forks, just wondering if anyone else was as fond & done the ground work!

I haven't done any ground work on this but if you get tired of that old caliper laying around your shop I'll gladly take it off of your hands if I can get it shipped from down under for less than the cost of a new one.

Cheers mate, she'll be right! It's already on the bike, twin discs & stops like a demon, just was considering an upgrade to 35mm forks, but I wouldn't trade my calipers for all the dougnuts in the USA!
