a little search on google for your motor number and I can conclude that its a "special" , the motor is anyway, so its a '78 or up , probably is the 1980 motor it says on the title, but its on a '77 frame, if you have to have the numbers match like I had to in my state here in Mass. , frame needs to match the title, you will have to do a little custom work, get yourself a set of 1/4 inch metal number punches , I got mine on ebay, then I ground down the numbers on the neck to flush metal again , then stamped with the 1/4 inch set the same as the engine, gave it a little black spray paint again and bingo!

Thanks xsfun
I can go with the fact that it's a 80 special,no need to punch #'s they match as far as the ownership goes.

most welcome, someone somewhere along the line made 1 bike out of 2 bikes, you will have to determine what parts are when you go to replace anything, cause you have a '80 motor on a '77 frame, are the forks , rotors, calipers, brakes etc..etc... from the '77? cause they are different from '77 to '80 for sure.

mine is also stamped 447-9xxxxxx and its a '77 , so it appears they used those numbers thru early '78 as we thought earlier ,same frame, but his motor is different number.
