Has anyone used the stock clones for $79 from Mikex and JC? I'm wondering if these are more advanced in terms of ride handling, or are simply a new 30 yr old design?

I have Progressive on another old bike and they are very good, but do not feel like putting down $250+ at this point with so much else to do.

Would I be better staying with the old or are the clones a signifcant improvment. Bike has 10K and has spent all of it's storage on center stand

Last Spring I bought pair of Progressive Series 14's with springs for my wife's bike fom Pro-Flo--around $215 shipped, if I remember right. If memory serves, Omar's shocks are Red Wings--also a good choice.
