Does anyone have the conversion procedures for running a xs1100 19" front wheel on the back of my 650?
How difficult is the conversion? What do I need? I guess I should start by purchacing an 1100 wheel
Thank you

The kit he sells is for a 19" wheel off the front of a XS 650, I'm not 100% sure but the XS 1100 is probaly the same wheel.

Hello , I not sure of the 1100 but if they are the same as the xs400 and 650's I have a guy who makes or ( did) I haven't talked to him scense I race with him in Texas last year. Very nise set up.. Bolts on the mag so you can run a quick change sprocket and disk. I have them on my ice bike. Email me at ghoos @ netexpress.net and I can send picks and will get in touch with Jim. Gary

Is that safe just cause someone else is doing it for a fashion statement.....disability is a lot harder to get today...plus 1.8 inch rim won't give much patch......what the hell do I know........?

Rear wheels are generally stronger than front wheels........was my question.......something happens like a chain crapping or something on the highway would worry me with a weaker rear........but with all the things I've seen on this site I should know better than to interject......

I didn't know what you ment. Don't know about the general strength between front and rear, can't say in 39 years of riding and racing (only 5 year of flat track racing) that that was ever a concern or even mentioned. If you have ever race or rode on the ice you know the way the rear will hook up( or grab) if you can't break them there you will not break them on the street with a chain break locking the rear wheel up. I have the same set up for the last 3 years and it is still going strong.
There is a stock 650 class that most of the racers i have seen run the mags as I mentioned. Thanks Gary

Just checked the torque on my 8-1 compression.....67thou on this one......should take me well over a hundred without the same old problems.......do now what you guys are doing....been there myself...but to old to compromise now since I know how to do both......just get confused on what people are really trying to do.....and have all of this stuff in a file.........one marked finish line.....the other marked....not having to F with it so much...........at my age I use the second folder more than I used to.... and ride more undicked miles that ever......
I raced around in circles so long till I thought I saw my own ass.....was such an ugly sight I decided to race around in bigger circles..(couple hundred miles or so)....just so I wouldn't stand the chance of seeing that again...... that has to make more since to me than anyone else.....

I used a RD400 18" rear wheel. It is a bit of work. The wheel hub is .75" narrower. Make a sprocket spacer to bolt to the wheel studs and have sprocket made for rd400 with approiate teeth. new axle spacers (2) at .38"
new bearings and seals because xs axle is bigger . Really when you are all done it comes out well. and offset brake torque control arm.

If picture more than 1400, click on Edit, takes you into "Paint" program. Click on Image, then Stretch and Skew. If original picture is 2800 pixels, then select 49% to get you under 1400.
