Does anyone have detailed pics of some lowering blocks? I'm looking for a set but not having much luck. Doesn't help that I'm cheep... I might look into making some or getting some made but need to see how they're made and how they mount, etc.
Thanks! J

I've seen some on a local guys XS. Basically what I saw was a bracket that moved the bottom rear shock mount rearward so the shock was more at an angle thus lowering it,
Something funny.JC Whitney has a kit AND a pic.
www.jcwhitney.com/ALL-..._10111.jcw
And it's $65....time, effort, material, aggravation (at least for me) I might be tempted to just order one.

Thanks for the link, Pumps. I'd done a quick search on JC Whitney but nothing turned up. Those ones look pretty simple too. Don't think it would take more than an hour for a competent welder to put a pair of those together. I'll find out and see if it's more economical to just guy them.
I've also seen these:
That little tacked on part on the side, does that fit over end of the swingarm for more stability? And what's that bolt for? Can you use that to raise/lower the bracket to adjust the ride height?

The bolt goes through a hole in the pre-80 style chain adjusters. Not sure of the exact year, I just know the adjusters are different on my '77 and '78 than the ones on my '80 and '81.
I had a set a lot like this I took off my '78. Natedogg has 'em now.
Best,
Michael

Interesting. Mine's an 81 so I'll have to have a look and see what's the best way to mount them.

if the block moves the shock back more than about an inch the shock hits the brake caliper on a disc brake. if you make a longer brake strut bar it may work.

I have both savage shocks and blocks on mine, what I would suggest (Im going to do it just haven't gotten around to it) moving the upper mounts into the corner of that gusset and not run the lowering blocks at all
