I've got a question....

if i have mags and i want spoke wheels, is it possible to switch it up, and can you have spokes with a rear disc brake? or is it a pain in the ass?
or would i be able to do it, but not able to have a rear disk anymore?

please inform me!

I believe the disk rear was only on the solid wheel. I have a 1979 standard, the last year in the US and it is a drum rear with spoke wheel. Now if you were really determined you could relace a front hub with a rear rim and somehow mount a sprocket to the holes for the second disk. It only takes money and maybe a BFH.

Here's the link you need:

www.omarsdtr.com/street12.html

I'm doing the same thing with my cafe. I gots to have them wires! Razz
Unfortunately, Yamaha did not deem rear wire wheels worthy of disk brakes. So we have to take things into our own hands.
Another place for wheel adapters is:

home.gci.net/~dyen/XS650.html

This guy has drawings for the adapters if you want to machine them yourself.

If you want 18" wheels like I did, you can get a couple front wheels off of an xs360. The hubs are identical to the xs650. Or if you decide to go with a rear drum brake, I have the swingarm for that set up. You can have it for the cost of shipping.
