I found out today that my voltage regulator is toast. If anyone has one they could part with for a nice low price, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks

Works great, I did mine to keep the original regulator nice and safe.

kingwj; Just curious why you keep the original safe..............I suppose its the obvious............you plan some day to sell the bike with "all" original parts on bike.

I'm not planning on selling the bike. I think the solid state is better. I would never make a modification to the bike that would take more than 1 hour to reverse.

kingwj; Yes, thats the way I like to do upgrades too. You never know........the next owner might want to go back to older technology. For sure, solid state is better than mechanical relays.
My bike is very reliable with "points" but in the future I might change over to that new fangled electronic ignition. Solid state voltage regulator.............thats probably a future upgrade too.
I guess I'm being dragged, kicking and screaming, slowly out of the 1970's technology. Believe it or not, I've recently upgraded to a Halogen headlight. Smile
