Does anyone have access to or can lead me to a link that can help me with a simplified harness for a 1983 electronic ignition engine? I have a wiring harness (stock) for the bike but I want to eliminate all but the essential items , Alternator, ignitor, coil, starter. I am capable of setting up a key switch and pushbutton starter along with head, tail and signal lights I just need to get the essentails any and all help is welcome Thanks Threeball

Maybe this link will help.

A Clymer manual would help out as well. What I've found on motorcycle wiring diagrams are good at showing you wires / connections but nothing about the internal workings of the device / switch. I've completely rewired my 80 XS, no lighting reserve unit or safety relay, etc. New controls, lights, switches and it wasn't too tough, Good Luck!
