what are some aftermarket mufflers that will fit an 80 special?
looking for a little more sound and a slimmer look.
what is the outlet size? i'm thinking maybe cocktail shakers or cones ends...

Have you put new mufflers on yet?
I was running BUB's on my '80 and put a set of Mikes XS1 replicas on it. I actually had to go up a size in main jet. On my '81 H I am running NOS 1975 headers with JCW glass packs. I had to richen it up as well. Both run very well. I'm very happy with the XS1 replicas and will probably put them on the H also. I've had the SG since '89 and the H since "97, tried 6 different setups between them. I would like to hear a set of sporster mufflers though...
BUB's are great for performance, but my ears can no longer deal with the noise. Greg

XS1961, what brand are those mufflers? How did you get them to clear the center stand? Are those stock headers?

Not sure what brand they are,I bought them here in the UK & theyre made here..cost me £65 ($130) the pair.
Center-stand tucks neatly round them without alteration.
downpipes(headers) are Halco reps.
