Well I'm going to do it, got a weld on tail coming from BW and started collecting all the other little bits and pieces. I'm trying to do this on a bit of a budget, but we all know how that goes!
Already got the flat fender and sporty style tank, custom solo seat, highway pegs, shorty mufflers, and tail light. My last big purchase for now needs to be a fake oil tank/battery box set up, but do I have other options than just the Black Widow piece? I know I've seen a pic of an ammo can used, but where and what size? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

its supposed to be a zero stretch with a 3in drop, pretty decent work for a weld on tail. had it welded by a Austin MN shop, Custom Addictions. Great work from them, they may have done some slight alterations to the tail.

I live in Grand Meadow MN.

did you order the weld on kit or the pieces to do it yourself? And how much did it run ya ($$$) for custom addictions to do it for ya?

I got the weld on off ebay from BW, cost $200, got the labor done for $500. The labor cost me more from added work needed to attach it since it was not "perfect". They did a good job putting it together!

The ammo can- that was probably me. Here's a link to the page with a pic of it:
twinoak.altelco.net/~j...pper4.html
It's a standard .50 cal ammo box, but I had to cut out 2-3 inches of it then re-weld it together. It was tricky to make it look untouched, but it turned out pretty good. I have the battery, connections, and coils in there.
Here's a link to the whole project:

Actually that makes 2 that I've seen with the ammo can idea, yours being the first. The other must have used a 30 cal can, it was still army issue green. I've already scraped that idea, but its cool to see your bike, I love the paint!

bike looks great. Curious how tall you are, and how it feels sitting in the saddle. Ive seen some pics of people on their 650 hardtails that made the bike look really small.
