Hi Guys,

Just a note of appreciation to our Veterans, and those of our friends around the World. One day a year to appreciate our Vets is little enough, so please lets not pollute it with politics, OK?

Let's simply appreciate the job done by so many Vets, day in and day out, year in and year out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

In 1934 Atatürk wrote a tribute to the ANZACs killed at Gallipoli:

Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours... you, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. - yes-my favourite anti-war song-played it in the RSA one day-didnt go down well...i play every anzac day too to remember spilt family blood...been to dawn service in sulva bay some years ago...also smoked a couple in the kiwi graves in normandy...fucking waste if you ask me...

Pogues...damn brilliant. Another great WWI war song is 1916 by Motorhead, believe it or not. There are some videos of it on Youtube. I couldn't be prouder to be a veteran and I raise my glass to all others past and present. Hail.
