I don't think you'll see that comparison. The XS650 hasn't been made since the 80s. There is plenty of reviews on the various V Star 650 models out there though. I was actually reading them just now. I saw one for sale on craigslist and was curious as I liked the looks. Some of the V Stars are shafties which is low maintenance.

Harumph. Harumph, I say! The very idea of comparing our classic, irresistible, lovely, wonderful, apogee of Asian vertical twin design to some V-twin thing that happens to be made by Yamaha, and one that doesn't even have a proper chain to throw oil on the rear wheel (keeps it from rusting, y'know!)....well, harumph!
Compare the Hope Diamond to Paris Hilton. Or the Golden Gate to a freeway overpass, but OUR BIKES to that---oh, whatever it is!---that "Thing", that shamelessly modern, efficient, practical, low-service, reliable...."Thing".
Shame!
(I bet the charging system even works. All the time. Ugh! Boring.......)

i owned one. a 2000. nice little bike. Engine to small to do any serious driving with it just like my XS. but it was a nice real comfortable and reliable bike. Shaft drive was nice. I would buy a vstar1100 though if i were to buy another cruiser.
