A friend of mine has an 81 that seemes to be slipping a bit when he gets on the throttle hard. Its fine any other time. He can take off from a stop without the clutch slipping. Could he just need an adjustment, or is he looking at replacing plates and springs? Thanx.

It could be his oil, some oils can make the clutch slip. What oil is he running in his bike?

A proper adjustment can help. Adding stronger springs is may help. Some people use three stock and three after market springs.
