i have an 81 xs650 and need a advance/breaker housing, found one on fleabay but it's from a 72 will it work? if not i need your spare PLEASE!

I think they are all the same. You can check a parts list like at www.yamaha-motor.com/s.../home.aspx or www.babbittsonline.com with the part # you can cross reference it on babbitts to see what other Yamaha's used that part #

part number is same for all years, same for both sides
