Had my 75 running real well then just out of the blue it developed a miss/cut out where it momentatily quits, very suddenly and then starts running again just as quickly. In my experience it's not a fuel related issue but feels like an electrical problem, like a temporary open cirdcuit. Anyway, I've put in new plugs, points are good, timing is fine, valves recently done. I've opened the headlight and checked every connection, same with coils and primary resistance is 4 ohms which is spec. I know coils can sometimes be an issue when they heat up. I guess my question is could it be the condensor? I have a new one but I've never had a bad condensor act this way.
ost of the time the bike just learches but it has quit and I've had to pull over. Once I was in a parking lot making a tight manuever and it quit and down I went but fortnately no damage. It's getting progresively worse. Any ideas. Thanks.

check the kill switch, take the throttle control apart spray that switch while working it, better if you can take it apart but that little C-clip that holds it together is a major pita

If the head and instrument lights flicker off during that time, the problem is most likely in the ignition switch. If they stay on, then maybe a problem in the kill switch. I hate this kind of problem because you can't be absolutely sure you've fixed it sometimes. Hopefully you'll get in there and find something obviously wrong.

Maybe loose/dirty connection in the ignition or kill/run switch? Cleaned all your other electrical connections? Does it start cutting out or just die?

Thanks for the tips. I'll spray bot the kill and ignition switches.
It started out as a slight, what seemed to me, miss but it's gotten worse and like I say the bike will actually quit altogether now causing me to pull over and when it misses now it's a real jerk or learch.

You've a 75 so I think like me you only have one fuse. I would also clean and check all those connections by the main fuse. Mine had some suspect connections in that area that I redid.

In mine, the red wire inside the ignition sw. had corroded loose from its solder joint. Result was nothing worked except the tail light. It wasn't intermittent like this, but it could have been.
On second thought I think it was the brown wire that came loose. Seems like the wires in the switch are red comes from battery, blue goes to tail light, and brown goes to just about everything else.

Connections.....connnections.....connections! On these or any old bike. May sound trite and stupid but; with something like this I always start with the main bike grounding surfaces. Then the ignition switch. Then the kill switch etc. etc. It's ridiculous how often I've found the primary clamping surfaces and or ground wire itself to be the problem. So much so. that as an old pal used to say....."start with a new ground wire" . It's ridiculous how often this is the problem ...cause if it's at all loose, it's corroded. BOL, Blue
