Hey guys, have a problem and need some input.
The oil seal on the shift pedal shaft, pictured (#7 on diagram) is warped to hell. Looks like the previous owner tried to replace it and jacked it all up.
Is there any way to replace this seal without taking the whole shaft out on the right side (seal is visible on the left side of crankcase.)???

ind you this is NOT the clutch pushrod oil seal!

Thanks a million for any and all responses.

When I replaced my shifter shaft oil seal, I removed the right engine cover and removed the clutch. This allowed complete removal of the shifter shaft, and installation of the seal was quite easy.

I doubt if you could replace the seal with the shaft in place, but maybe someone else will jump in and say you can?? Anyway, its a good opportunity to have a good look at your clutch, measure for wear, and check for the correct pieces in place.

You'll need oil, new gasket, manual impact tool, clutch holding tool, torque wrench. Haynes manual is very useful.
