I really enjoy watching movies about motorcycles or ones that involve motorcycles in some way. I'm not going to list the movies I've seen or my favorites at this time. I would sure enjoy hearing others recommendations on movies to see, if some of my favorites don't get mentioned, I'll make sure to add them to the thread.
So what's a good motorcycle movie or scene in a movie worth watching?

Some of our down under brothers mentioned a movie about John Britten in another post. . I found all of the parts on you tube. it was pretty interesting to see how he built his own bike from scratch in his garage.
If you are talking fiction, there's Easy Rider of course. The Mad Max movies too. In the movie Tommy by The Who there is a big biker fight scene in a quarry where Tommy flies over on a hang glider .

The great 1971 documentary classic... On Any Sunday.
I still chuckle at the desert race scene... you feel bad, but you still laugh.
(I just got a copy of the Britten movie "One Man's Dream".... haven't watched it yet.)

Stone is another cult classic Aussie movie, it might be a bit hard to find these days. Z9's & Z1's a plenty with true 70's style!
y favorite line from that is when they bury one of their dead in a vertical grave "we buried ya like this mate so you wouldn't take anything lying down"!

"Hard On the Trail- Hunting Down Their Prey With 500 Pounds of Hot Steel Between Their Legs"
1970's porn, never saw the movie but the title is priceless, still remember it from the newspaper ad.

I always thought that was a Harley, now that I looked closer it does look like they used an XS650 with Harley sound effects.

Wild hogs
Easy Rider
Worlds Fastest Indian
Dust to Glory
The Great Escape
ad Max
I would like to see the movie, [/b]Stone.
Has anyone seen The Motorcycle Diaries. Based on a true true story, good family movie(though rated R) it is in Spanish with english subtitles.

The Barry Sheene Story (I think thats what it was called).Great doco on Sheene, shows a couple of his bad crashes. The Daytona crash when he came a gutsa at 170 mph! As wel as his Silverstone crash, man thats out there! He also had some of his operations filmed...........Ouch!
On a lighter note, the Wallace & Gromit animated plasticine shorts & the movies are pretty cool!

Not exactly motorcycling, but do any of our fair English friends get to watch Rory the racing car? My 2 year old daughter loves it & makes daddy watch it with her. It's narrated by Stirling Moss & set at SilverHatch circuit! Very cool!

Great suggestions for movies!
Here's one I've wanted to see, I think finding a copy would be pretty difficult. By the way I think the date is wrong of 1979, I think it should be 1970.
Little Fauss and big Halsey, check it out, pretty cool!

I thought "The Motorcycle Diaries" was a decent film. They do break the
bro code riding two fellas on one bike. What did they call the
Norton... "The Mighty One"? (If I was riding to Patagonia with my
friend, he'd find his own bike.) The Norton breaks down and the leave it
behind after a while. After that the adventure aspect of the film
dissolves into more of a humanist exploration of societal inequality.
Ewan MacGregor's "The Long Way Round" series is serious adventure, but
you gotta wade through all the dull parts to hit the exciting ones.
Someone ought to make a film about David Barr. As a double-amputee he
rode his Sportster around the world. The Guinness book wouldn't take it
because they felt it was improperly documented... so he did it AGAIN
with H-D's sponsorship. I met him a few years back. Great guy and a
real inspiration.

David Barr sounds like a great idea for a movie, being turned down at first and doing it again, amazing!

Bro code schmo code! Another example is the Bronson episode with the crazy artist who paints the barn, if you ever saw it. A not too sure of their masculinity code, sounds like to me.
Regarding Easy Rider - you gotta rent the dvd for the extra comments and footage section. It was a stoned mess. Seems like it was the camera man who stayed sober and kept the movie from immediately going in a ditch. Also has Fonda's comments on the symbolism of the stars and stripes tank with roll of money in it. Good movie. Could have been great, but just good I think.

I just thought of one Ive not seen in ages , think it called 'Knight Riders' ? With Ed Harris , hes 'King' of a group of 'Knights' (nuts) on M/C's re-enactmenting medieval jousting tornements around the US... Odd, but not a bad film..
