Hey guys,

How can I ID the model year that my carbs came on? I have a '71 with a 74 engine, but I'm unsure of what year the carbs are. I cant get the side covers to fit right....and I ordered the carb holders for the 74-79. The bike runs fine, its all bolts up, but the carbs are at an angle.

I might be missing something really obvious here...

Please help Smile

Thanks,
ike

I think the 71 carb holders come back at a different angle than the 74 and later models. Mike's XS has pics to show the differences in the carbs. I think the 71 carbs have a metal strap hooking the two enricheners together, The 74 carbs have one enrichener one the left carb with a hose hooking the one enrichener to both carbs.

it depend on the phase of the moon the direction of the tide and which side of the world you are on (little known fact, half the world is below the equator), parts may be bass-ackwards depending on location Rolling Eyes
