Headlight charging issue

When I have the fuse in for my headlight, the most I see charging is to 12.46 volts at 3000 rpm's.

With the fuse out it charges to 13.5 to 13.6 at 3000 rpm's. I have looked for a short and can't find one. I'm getting very frustrated.

This all started when my fuse blew out and I replaced it. I then wondered why it blew out and started searching for answers.

aybe it's staring me in the face and I can't see it.
Anyone with a similar problem? Crying or Very sad

With the headlight on and at 3000 RPM you should have 14 volts. At 12.46 volts means you have no charging at all.

Start looking at the usual suspects..............brushes need to be 3/8" or longer, rotor resistance from slip ring to slip ring should be 5 or 6 ohms, from slip ring to rotor body should be infinity.
