I have a tank from an Ironhead Sprotster that was spray painted and has some rust inside. Place for a single petcock on the right side. couple quarter size dents from the bars (guessing, they were there when I got the tank) on the front of the tank. Looking to sell for $50 plus shipping. I live in area code 45420 if you want to get an Idea of shipping costs. PM me if you have questions.

Would you be interested in any trades? I lost my job a couple of weeks ago and am short on cash, but I'm really wanting one of these tanks. I have other things to trade than just parts.

By the way I live in Springfield, Oh so I could just pick it up instead of shipping.

Thanks and God Bless

fifty plus shipping seems to be a tad high for a Sporty tank. I've seem them on eBay go for as little as 10 to 15 buck. There is only about a zillion of them running around.

Oh well...I guess that is what makes the world go around. To me it seems high, to you it doesn't. It kinda depends on one's finances too I guess. For me, fifty bucks is high for a lot of things. Some people I know can drop a fifty without a second thought.
I was only stating my personal opinion on the tank.

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to start a fight. I was just trying to sell it for what I paid for it.

s008ess, I didn't wish to start one either, but it seems like ...well...
Anyway, I was only saying that for me, and in this area, it is a kind of high price. I've bought them for a little as 10 bucks. Many Sporty folk want to get rid of the stocker and mount a larger tank. When they ride with big twins, that little 3 gallon tank makes for lots of fuel stops.
The two piece big twin tank always sells high, as does the King Sportster tank (4.5 gallon) and the FXE tank. I never did understand why H-D put such a small tnak on the XLs.

My guess is so that you will go buy another tank and they can charge you an arm and a leg for it. The Ironhead tanks only held 2.2 gal. I think... At least that is what I was told by the guy I got it from. It works fine on a bar hopper though.

You could get one of the split tanks and do one side gas the other with your drink of choice and use the petcock as your tap... Could get a little warm though Wink

It's a good thing the bars are close together in this neck of the woods, I would hate to have to switch to reserve on the fly!
