Hello guys,

After reading something about the crankshaftbearingI removed the generatorcover this morning to check if there was any play on the crankshaft and i noticed then i could move the crankshaft in and out say 0.5 mm when i was holding it by the 17mm nut. (axial)
I couldnt move it up or down but im worried now about the axial play.

Is this normal or should i really be worried about the crankshaft bearing now.

Some in and out play is probably not bad but excessive could
work on the brushes. Up and down play would indicate
crank bearing problems and if left unchecked can
wear on the stator irons since the clearance between
rotor and stator is just a few thousands.
