I've a question about my side stand. While seated on the bike it seems to be in the most unreachable position for this short legged guy. IF I can snag it with my boot as I rotate it out my ankle hits the foot peg. Just a general pain in the ass. Sometimes I just dismount and then put it down. Do I need to bend it some or add a piece or what. I bought a NOS stand over the winter thinking mine was boogered up but I think it's the same.

On the microfiche for my bike , on the side stand/footrest page it lists something called a "stopper". Where exactly is this stopper supposed to be? On the bike or the side stand? Can anyone provide a picture? Thanks!
edit: A rubber cap thingy like would be on the tip of something on the very end of the stand would possibly extend it out a bit and give me something to catch with my boot. Or is that what the "stopper" does?
I see mike has a stopper listed...

The "stopper" is a rubber bumper that mounts in a hole on a loop that sticks out off the side of the muffler and holds the side stand out a little and keeps it from rattling. Bending the arm on the side stand out a bit may help.
