Hi just signed up today. Going this weekend to check out a 1979 xs650. It has about 42000km on it. I plan on chopping it and rebuilding it into a bobber. This will be my first project so, looking forward to all the great advice and ideas from this awesome forum.

Cheers, Rob

Welcome! Hope the bike works out for you.

I had a look at your Douiglas knives site... looks like your pretty comfortable working with metal!! (that dagger is beautiful).

Thanks for the compliment Jeff

Ive been knife making for about 9 years now. I am fortunate that where I work, we have a fabrication shop with pipe benders, milling machines with guys that can teach me how to use it all. Looking forward to doing this build.

Cheers, Rob

You can't go wrong with an XS. It's the most widely supported "oldie" on earth.
