hey guys took out my clutch today to check it out i think somone might have monkeyed with it not quite sure? i have 6 metal and 6 friction plates. metal plates are at .55'' and friction are at .117'' . heres the kicker. i read my srings are supposed to be at 1.362'' and mine are 1.630'' ? they have a blue stripe too.. did i get some wrong info maybe or are these the wrong springs ?

probably a chopper clutch, lol, supposed to be 7 friction and 6 metal tito but with those long springs you may have a after market, with only 6 frictions you would be running metal to metal on one end or the other (against clutch basket or outer pressure plate) standard friction plate thickness is supposed to be .140

What year is it Tito?
'80 on & pre '73 used 5 steel 6 friction
I can't remember how long my Barnett springs are, but thats gotta be close! Good to have better springs, good find!
Curious as to how the plates were stacked?

The thickness of your plates is normal. Yamaha service manual (78SE) says Friction plates normal=.118" ans Steel normal=.055".

my bike is a 81 . ok i thought the plates were ok.. i'm now wondering if the springs are a heavier aftermarket type ? and yes theres 6 steel and 6 friction .. this must be a aftermarket clutch?

then the outer part of the basket with springs
