This may sound crazy but every once in a while I spray penetrating
oil up the end of the tail pipe then run it. 8 seconds of spray. Especially when the bike is stored for the winter hit it good and run for a few seconds. Hasn't plugged up mine since the penetrating oil is so thin. Been doing it for years and no rust. Old Yamaha Mechanic
