Hi Guys,

Gotta re shoe the beast Smile LOL

Originally had Bridgestones on it. However recently rode a bike belonging to a friend with budget tires on it, and thought, why did I bother with expensive tyres, AND the road was slightly wet..They were better than my Bridgestones, however, the reseller says that they arent available in my sizes (78SF)..

Has anyone used any inexpensive tyres and got good things they wanna tell me about them?

Cheers all.

I bought front and rear from www.cruisercustomizing.com. They are Dunlop D404's. Paid $58.07 front and $66.47 rear, U.S. dollars, and got free shipping to Canada, due to a promotion they had in 2007. Paid no tax or customs. Also bought a helmet from them, again with free shipping. Great outfit to deal with.

They work well for my style of riding, i.e. I seldom exceed the speed limits. I don't ride in the rain, so can't comment on that area.

Jake, my mate from Buzzard motorcycles sells some great East european & Chinky tyres for around the £40 - £50 pound mark that look & perform just like avons/michelins etc.
try ringing him for the brand name

Well in the end...

I've gone for Avons, because I got an amazing price, too good to turn down as some guy thought he might be stuck with a 130/90-16 unless he sold it cheap Smile

However..

I can say that after a good hunt and some advice taken that ..

The new Chin Shengs are great tyres, really sticky not hard as they used to be,
and the Czech brand Mitas is also worth a long look for those wanting to make a saving. All the others that I managed to actually see, were rock hard or had a terrible profile or of obvious crap quality..saying that I never managed to actually see thse tyres in the desired rear size!

The cheapest tire made today is better then what came on them new. Ive had good luck with Cheng Chins but as of 1/1/09 they quit making motorcycle tires. Im sure the warehouses have a good supply of them still. Ive had good luck with the Hi Max series. Ive got a lot of bikes and my tires get old before they get worn out.
