Yes, I do. I have XS650 Special SF '79 with Dellorto PHF36 with KN's. It works just perfect !!! A lot of power in compare with Mikuni's BS38. Bike runs smooth, with perfect response. These are way better carbs then Mikuni's, with a lot of performance gain, fits perfect, bolt on bolt. Easy to tune. You will need just a little bit of gas more then with old carb's per mile/km, but that's the price for performance !!! Good choice !!!

I'd say it's just a coincidence, but I think I will have to spend some time staring at Xray's avatar, in order to properly study this quirk Smile

Personally I'd rather see more of Mr. Obradovic's 79 Special. It would appear that he has a very nice machine and both jugs would be real.

Whatever.....c'mon Spring! Cabin Fever setting in.

Thanks for the info. on Dellorto's Nikola. Nice Album. Really like what you've done with the Low Rider Headlight and single Instrument housing.

Very Nice Work! The "Phoenix" is most appropriate. Best, Blue

do you have to customize the side covers to fit around the air cleaners like that, or do they just fit naturally. I am looking at putting the same carbs on my 83 special and am curious.

PS1. Answer to Sandy803: Side covers fits naturally. You should "persuade" them a little bit, (matter of mm), but in the end, they fits perfect. I think, DellOrto's are perfect choice. I recommend them truly !!!

PS2. I didn't understood about "coincidence"... ??? Maybe, it is my "bad" English ... please help. :-))

Sincerely Yours,

Nikola

Your username and the avator of the bouncing breasts.

No bra dovic

Bad pun but that's funny to us. Americans are easily amused.

Now, it's completely obvious !!! ... and funny too !!! Thks for info ! :--))

N(ikola)+OBRADOVIC=nobradovic... I should use some "bikers nickname".... rather then this one.

But, I'm Nikola for friends :--)))

Thanks for quick response.

Yours,
Nikola

Xray
Back to the original post: I tried mike's Dellorto's on my '81. I was not all that happy with them and eventually went back to BS 34's with John's needles in them. I ran the Dellortos with Mikes XS1 replica's they were fine for going fast, but they were difficult to modulate going slow around town. I might try them again on my '80 with the much freer flowing BUB's.
Good luck and let us know your set up and how they work for you.
Greg
