hey folks, My name's Andy.
I have just been given the pleasure of a restore project. It's an xs 650 from I think the late 70's, with two motors, two sets of carbs, and various other extra parts. I would really like to eventually do a cafe job on it, but first things first. This forum looks like it is a gold mine for someone in my position, lots of good info and people who sound like they know what they are talking about. I am a fairly new rider, about a year, and just sold my GS450 to a buddy, so I want to get the xs on the fast track. I will post somewhere else to discuss the rebuild in more detail.
Good to be here guys, thanks in advance for you help. Laughing

Welcome to the forum. I also am new to the XS650 and these guys are the true wealth of knowledge. You couldn't have found a better place for project info. I am just trying to get all of the original parts for mine (I've got a '79 Special) before I really get into the teardown. Good luck on your project, I'm sure we'd all like to see some pics.

I am out here in the west, Reno. It's great motorbike territory with the sierra's just west and the endless mountain ranges of the great basin to the east,(plenty of twisties).
