Have any of you put forward controls (FWC'S) on a stock bike?
I'm 6'1" tall and my legs get cramped like crazy. I love the look of my
stock "77 D" but I would like to be more comfortable.
What kind of FWC's are you using?
Home made? Scavanged? What?
How would you rate your controls?
Does your linkage go over or under the side covers?
Is anybody using the bolt ons from TC Bros. Choppers?
The Calicruiser set looks great but need to be welded on. I like how low they ride though.
How about some feed back?
Thanks,

Would hi-way pegs on a crash guard or bar be a option for you? It works well for me.

I have the TC Brothers. I have not installed them yet as my bike is a work-in-progress, but the quality is GREAT. I'm 6'-0" with #12 feet myself. When I lowered my seat I saw the same problem you are having now.

Weekendrider,
I don't really care for the look of Crash guards, and my worst time for cramping is when I first start out cold. I need my feet on the controls but my brain keeps throwing my left leg out to the side to try and get rid of the cramps. If it were a minor thing that might work. Thanks!
Romer,
Please let me know how those TC Bros. controls work for you. Is your bike a standard? And did you go with the knurled or concave pegs?
Anyone else?

rw,
I have them on my bike just not linked to the brake/shifter. I think they are going to be very comfortable.

I built my forward controls. You can see better pics in my gallery, click link below. I also sorta did a guide on how I built them. Try searching fabricated forward controls. They work well and are comfortable.
Good luck

I saw one guy who had mounted GSXR rearsets upside down as forward controls.
Works great if you have a rear disk brake.. The GSXR Master cylinder is mounted on the rearset so it makes a nice integrated unit.. All you need is a long brake line.

G,
Those look great. I like the look of the pegs. I worry about slippage on the TC controls.
Is there reinforcement between the two sides or just mounted to front motor mount like TC's? Somehow I imaging the two pegs ggetting pushed together. Folding in on each other. I guess if the mount plates are strong enough it won't happen.
SS,
I have a 77 D with rear drum brakes but sounds like a good idea.
Thanks guys.
